NBC Olympics to Stream Trials Prelims
|
NBCOlympics.com will webcast the morning prelim sessions live from the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb. Olympic gold medalist and former National Team captain Josh Davis will be the commentator. The webcasts begin Sunday and will air each day of Trials starting at 11 a.m. Central Time.

Jessica Hardy Wraps Up Speedo Meet with 100 Free Win
|
Jessica Hardy finished a successful run at the 2008 Speedo Grand Challenge with an impressive win in the 100 Free.
Jessica turned in a swift 54.44 to take first. Jessica's time was another personal best; her 4th of the weekend. Touching second was Stanford's Brooke Bishop in 56.34. Finishing 3rd and 4th were Missy Franklin (56.84) and Maddy Schaefer (57.36).

Jessica Hardy Swims "Off Event", Posts Best Time
|
Jessica Hardy stepped outside her usual program of events to contest the 100 Fly on the second night of the 2008 Speedo Grand Challenge. The result was a second place finish in the championship final as well as a career best time by nearly 3 seconds.
Jessica turned in a performance of 1:00.85 to take second behind Stanford's Brooke Bishop (59.94). Yumi So hit in 1:02.16, followed by Megan Fischer-Colbrie's 1:02.28.
In the morning prelims, Jessica qualified 2nd overall in the 200 Free with a 2:04.54 that registered another lifetime best performance for her. She scratched the final to concentrate on her 100 Fly.

Jessica Hardy Nearly Matches Own 100 Breast American Record
|
Swimming in the championship final of the 100 Breast at the Speedo Grand Challenge, Jessica Hardy came close to breaking her own American Record from 2005. Jessica hit the wall in 1:06.39 to set a new pool record. Her American standard remains a 1:06.20, which she set in the semifinals of the event at the World Champs in Montreal.
Jessica was followed to the wall by 2 of her Trojan teammates Rebecca Soni (1:07.69) and Keri Hehn (1:08.85). Jackie Pangilinan rounded at the 4 competitor championship field with a 1:13.00 swim.
Jessica also took top honors in the 50 Free in 24.85; her second meet record of the night and a best time. The Stanford duo of Brooke Bishop and Liv Jensen touched 2-3 with respective times of 25.90 and 26.40 while Yamil Bahamonde finished 4th (26.53).

Jessica Hardy Suits Up for this Weekend's Speedo Meet
|
As the countdown to the Olympic Trials continues, action moves from Santa Clara to Irvine for the Speedo Grand Challenge, hosted by the Novaquatics.
Jessica Hardy, and her Trojan Swim Club teammates, will compete at the event, which runs Friday - Sunday at the William Woollett Jr Aquatics Center. Jessica will contest the 100 Breast, 50 Free, 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 100 Free.
Other clubs set to compete include Mission Viejo, Aquazot, Santa Clara Swim Club, and Swim Pasadena. Prelims commence at 9AM with finals at 5PM. More information can be found at www.novaquatics.com.

Jessica Hardy Featured in CBS Sunday Morning Show Story
|
Yesterday, the CBS Sunday Morning Show ran a story on the new racing suits, their affect on swimming's record book, and the construction that is said to make them so effective.
Jessica Hardy and Peter Marshall were featured with on-deck interviews in their respective Speedo and TYR racing suits.
